Andean cultural tourism is becoming increasingly popular and Marisol de la Cadena illustrates in her newest book the interweaving of Andean tourism, the engagement in local practices within a colonial apparatus, and the efforts of the runakuna or Quechua people to achieve land rights and justice. De la Cadena is not a stranger to Peruvian cultural politics. Born in Lima, she has been engaging in the politics of culture in Cuzco for a number of years already.
